The region of wine lake garda lies on the northwestern edge of Italy, surrounded by Lombardy in the south and west, Veneto in the east, and Trentino in the north. The dramatic morainic hills that rise from the lake are formed from deposits left by glacial movements and offer a beautiful landscape and a paradise for hiking and mountain biking.

The wines of the region are also stunning. The white Lugana DOC is produced by Turbiana vines along the southern shore of the lake and is a wonderful accompaniment to lighter fish such as coregone, baccala, or polenta dishes. The sparkling Bardolino Chiaretto DOC is an excellent aperitivo and pairs well with appetizers such as pappardelle con i fagioli, ravioli or risotto a la salsiccia (risotto with sausage).

From the north to the south of the lake, the rocky slopes of the Lessini hill chain, a natural amphitheater, offer stunning views, while the eastern shore of the lake is characterized by a series of picturesque villages. The main wineries of the region are located in the towns of Bardolino, Affi, Cavaion Veronese, Costermano and Garda.

The vineyards of the area produce Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes from which both the great traditional red Bardolino and its pink version, Chiaretto are born. The wines of the region are characterized by their elegance, fruity aroma and freshness and by subtle nuances of chlorophyll and wild flowers. The DOC and DOCG wines of the region are a real must for every wine lover, while the rosé wines of the region are also highly appreciated by connoisseurs.
