NBA 2K23 is just days away from its official launch, and 2K is speeding up the promotion by reviewing MyTeam's upcoming new changes. The latest Courtside Report is out, and it focuses entirely on NBA 2K's iconic card collection game. The report notes that NBA 2K23 will bring some new changes to MyTeam, some of which are welcome.

The big change for MyTeam is the removal of contracts. In previous NBA 2K games, players needed to buy a contract to continue using a player. This is a thing of the past, as NBA 2K MT has removed this feature.

Another key point in the courtside report is the player lock. NBA 2K23 will allow players to play 3-on-3 online triple threats through cooperation for the first time. This applies to different variants: party mode, co-op mode, and online competition.

The ability to play only one position doesn't just apply to Triple Threat Online co-op mode. Player locking can be used in all game modes in MyTeam, and 2K notes that this feature will be monitored to ensure its balance.

Unlimited online ranking has also been upgraded. NBA 2K23 will introduce a new ranking method, a change from the past two years when MyTeam players had to reach a certain record to advance. Now, the addition of season points means that every race brings an immediate change. Also, MyTeam will introduce a new level, Prestige beyond the Dark Matter Level, and the leaderboard will revert to Unlimited in 2K23.

Courtside reports also mentioned the return of the $250,000 MyTEAM Unlimited tournament, an exhibit involving players sending cards for rewards, a trophy case that requires players to collect 15 event cards for each NBA franchise, and Clutch Time Single player mode and three new beginners. For NBA 2K23, Jamorant, Jimmy Butler and Joel Embiid are the three starters.
