The new partner visa programs (visa subclasses 309/100 and 820/801) have been introduced from 1st July 2009 replacing the old spouse visas. In order to get a partner visa in Australia, there are certain aspects that need to be taken into account by the people involved. This country has stringent immigration laws that are meant to curtail the influx of immigrants from other countries. These laws are meant to protect the interests of the Australians and the country at large.

In the event that the husband secures employment in this country and granted a work permit, he can legally procure a permit for his wife upon fulfilling certain requirements as deemed necessary by the Australian department of immigration. However, there are certain documents that should be attached to the application for a visa. All the documents should be verified by the department of immigration for further consideration.

A valid marriage certificate or any other document showing that the two people are married should be attached to the visa application form. There are some unscrupulous immigrants who want to obtain visas through the use of fake documents. Married couples are thoroughly vetted in order to establish if they are genuine couples.

The wife should undergo a thorough medical checkup in order to make sure that she is not suffering from any chronic illness. Australia is very particular about maintaining high standards of health. All immigrants are supposed to undergo HIV and AIDS tests before they are granted visas to this country.

The husband should also provide proof of income to show that he will be able to support his spouse during the period they are going to stay in this country. There are certain standards of life that should be maintained in this country and all immigrants should be in a position to prove to Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship that they will be able to maintain them. The aim is to reduce the number of foreigners who will end up living like vagrants in this country.

Whilst the wife can secure employment in this country, she remains obliged to abide by the conditions that are stated on the work permit belonging to her husband. Upon expiry of the work permit belonging to the husband, the wife automatically faces the same predicament. In other words, the wife may be only in this country on behalf of the husband.

Basically, there are quite a number of pertinent issues that are given precedence in order to obtain a partner visa in Australia especially after the introduction of the new visa programs from 1 July 2009. These conditions apply to all foreigners who want to emigrate to this country.

The Australian government has the right to withhold or disqualify any application for a visa that does not fulfill the expected requirements. european visa More information can be found on Australian Government Department of Immigration and Citizenship website.
