For decades, norcold rv ac units have been the refrigerators of choice for many RV owners. The brand is known for quiet operation and reliability. Norcold fridges use gas absorption technology to cool the interior of your RV. If your RV refrigerator is making a gurgling noise or if you smell ammonia, it may have a leak in the cooling unit. You will need to replace the cooling unit if this is the case.

Getting the old cooling unit out of your RV refrigerator can be tricky. First, shut off 120VAC (shore power) and disconnect 12VDC at the refrigerator or at the battery bank. Then remove the fuses that supply power to the refrigerator.

Once the refrigerator is off, one person can give it a hard push from the back of the RV while another person pulls from the inside. This will start to move the refrigerator out of the cabinet. Continue moving it out while checking to make sure all connections and screws are removed. Once it is out of the cabinet, you can move it into your RV slowly.    norcold rv ac units
